

There were several special limited-edition models offered for these cars by Ford during the production run, most involving special paint and trim appointments. In much the same fashion as the first-generation cars were appointed with the luxury items of the day, the final generation cars were loaded with virtually every power and convenience option available on the order sheet. The last generation T-bird drew inspiration from the first-generation cars, coming off the line as two-seat convertibles with a soft top and removeable factory hardtop. To date, the 11 th and final generation of Thunderbird (to date) was re-introduced for the 2002 model year and produced through the 2005 model year. It evolved through 10 distinct generations in that time frame, and the company used the T-bird badge to chase whatever trend they felt the auto industry was moving toward with some degree of success.
